What are the system requirements?
PhotoScanner requires macOS 14.6 or later and runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. The app is only 15 MB.
Can I scan multiple photos at once?
Yes! Just place them next to each other and make the scan.
What resolution should I use for scanning?
For most family photos, 300-600 DPI is sufficient. Use 1200 DPI if you plan to enlarge photos significantly or need archival quality.
How do I export to Apple Photos?
Just select the "Export to Apple Photos" button in the app.
Is my photo data private and secure?
Absolutely. All photo processing happens locally on your Mac. Your photos never leave your computer, and we don't collect or store any of your images.
Can I add dates and locations to scanned photos?
Yes! You can add dates and locations to any photo. This metadata is preserved when exporting to Apple Photos or other formats.
I don't have a scanner – how can I scan?
You can easily scan with your iPhone – just download the PhotoScanner iPhone companion app (coming soon).
Which scanner can I use?
Any scanner that is compatible with your Mac.
